2020 SER Convention - CANCELED

SER 2020 CONVENTION UPDATE APRIL 15TH

Sadly, we are announcing the cancellation of the SER 2020 Trax to the MAX II Convention that was to be held in Cartersville, GA in June. We will not be rescheduling. I am sorry but the risk of bringing guest during these times is way beyond risking anyone’s health or life. We were waiting to see if things may get better, but the indications show by the time of the convention things could still be unsettled for guest to attend or travel to the convention.

We will be issuing full refunds thru PayPal or by check depending on the form of your payment. Please be patient with us and we will get these expedited over the next week. If you had a reservation at the Hampton Inn Cartersville, I have made arrangements to have the block of rooms reserved for our guest to be cancelled. If you do not see your room cancelled please contact Maggie Weber-Bedell Director of Sales to handle this. The direct number is 770-382-8999 Ext. 502.

We were excited to try to host the convention but its not to happen this year. Please stay safe and continue to model trains. The team is already preparing for next year in South Carolina. Hopefully all the COVID-19 crisis will be over, and we will be back to some normal activities.

Thank you to all the supported us from the clinicians who we had planned to speak and the team of volunteers that have been behind the scenes planning from the Piedmont Division. The North GA Train Show also is cancelled.

Special thanks to the 2020 Convention Team Members: Perry Lamb, Sally Bando, Bob Kelshaw, Howard Goodwin, Jim Hobbs, Doug Alexander, Jim Datka, Jim Travis. Hank Primas, Janet Lile

Regretfully,

Walt Liles 2020
SER Convention Chair
Superintendent Piedmont Division.NMRA
